Chess Meringue Pie
Chess Meringue Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 3 eggs, separated, 1 tsp. meal, 1/2 stick margarine, melted and 1 small can pet milk (5 1/2 oz.), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix 1 cup sugar, egg yolks, meal, margarine, Pet milk and vanilla.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 400° for 15 minutes and then at 350° for 20 minutes or until pie is set.
When pie is done, add the cream of tartar to the egg whites.
Beat until stiff peaks form.
Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar and continue beating until well mixed.
Spread on baked pie and return to 350° oven until meringue is brown.
