Cherry Torte
Cherry Torte is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 egg whites (at room temperature), 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar, 2 c. sugar, 2 tsp. vanilla and 2 c. broken saltines, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff.
Gradually add sugar and vanilla and continue beating.
Fold in broken saltines and chopped nuts.
Spread in a greased 11 x 15-inch pan and bake 30 minutes at 325Β°.
When cooled, spread on the Dream Whip, prepared according to directions.
Top with cherry pie filling and chill at least 2 hours before serving.
This will keep 5 days in refrigerator and still be firm.
