In mixing bowl, blend together brown sugar, granulated sugar, shortening and eggs.
Add flour, baking soda and baking powder.
Add buttermilk and cherry juice, stirring well.
Mix in nuts and maraschino cherries.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake in preheated 325Β° oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
