Cherry Chocolate Kisses
Cherry Chocolate Kisses is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. margarine or butter, softened, 1 c. powdered sugar, 2 tsp. maraschino cherry juice, 1/2 tsp. almond extract and a few drops red food coloring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Heat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, combine margarine, powdered sugar, cherry juice, almond extract and food coloring; blend well.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Stir in flour and salt. Add cherries.
Mix well. Form dough into 1-inch balls.
Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned around edges.
Immediately top each cookie with chocolate kiss. Remove from cookie sheets.
Makes 48 cookies.
