Cherry Cake
Cherry Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening (you can use part butter), 1 1/4 c. sugar, 3 eggs, 2 3/4 c. flour and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream together sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and beat thoroughly.
Add 1 cup of the flour, salt, soda, baking powder and spices and mix thoroughly.
Add and mix remaining 1 3/4 cups flour, milk and cherry juice.
Fold in drained pitted cherries and the nuts.
Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
After removing cake from oven, let it stand on cake rack about 5 minutes, then remove from pan.
Let cake cool on cake rack. Serve while it is still a little bit warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
