Cheese Corn Bread

Heat the oil in a small skillet.
Add the minced onion and saute over medium heat until the onion is soft and translucent. Set aside to cool.
Beat together egg, sugar and milk.
Combine flour, corn meal, baking powder and salt.
Mix thoroughly. Combine flour mixture with egg mixture.
Mix until well blended. Add corn, sauteed onions and grated cheese.
Mix well.
Spread into a buttered 8-inch baking pan.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 minutes or until lightly browned and firm on top.
