Shred Cheddar cheese.
Combine dry ingredients.
Cut in shortening.
Stir in cheese and add buttermilk.
Stir until dough clings together.
Knead dough lightly and roll into 12-inch circle.
Cut into 8 wedges.
Begin at wide end of wedge and roll toward point.
Place biscuit (point side down) on a greased baking sheet and bake at 450Β° for 12 to 14 minutes.
