Cut cake into 1-inch pieces.
Beat egg yolks and sugar.
Melt the bitter chocolate and add to egg mixture.
Dissolve gelatin in 1/3 cup cold water.
Fill cup with boiling water.

Blend in cake pieces.
Pack into a spring-form or angel food tin.
