Caramels
Caramels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. white karo, 1 c. sugar, 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/4 lb. comb honey or 1/3 c. strained honey and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Combine all except heavy cream and vanilla.
Let all sugars dissolve.
Bring to boil, then add the heavy cream.
Cook to a chewy stage when a little is tested in water, then add vanilla. Add nuts, if desired.
Pour into a well-greased 9-inch square pan. Cool; cut in small squares and wrap in waxed paper.
Use a heavy pan for cooking.
