Caramel Pie
Caramel Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, divided, 3 tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 3 eggs, separated and 2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Rub 1 cup sugar in a heavy iron skillet; melt over low heat. Mix 1 cup sugar, flour and salt in a bowl.
Combine egg yolks and milk, mixing well.
Pour this into skillet with melted sugar; continue to stir constantly until smooth and thick.
Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Top with meringue.
Bake until golden brown.
