Caramel Pecan Pie

Melt caramels with water and margarine in saucepan over low heat.
Stir frequently until sauce is smooth.
Combine sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla.
Gradually add caramel sauce; mix well. Stir in nuts; pour into pastry shell.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 to 50 minutes. Pie filling will appear to be very soft, but becomes firm as it cools.
