Caramel Icing
Caramel Icing is an easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. granulated sugar, 1/2 c. sweet milk and 1/2 c. melted butter (1 stick oleo), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Place 2 cups sugar in pan.
Add milk and melted butter.
Into another small skillet, put 1/2 cup sugar and melt over very slow heat.
At the same time, have first vessel heating slowly.
When both mixtures are at boiling point, slowly add melted sugar to first mixture, beating constantly as added.
Allow to boil up for about 1 minute (by the clock) or until soft-ball.
Remove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Beat until consistency to spread.
