Candy Cane Cookies
Candy Cane Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, softened, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. 10x sugar, 1 egg and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly except food coloring.
Divide dough in half.
To half of dough, add food coloring.
Blend well. Shape 1 teaspoon of dough from each half into 4-inch rope.
For smooth even ropes, roll them back and forth on lightly floured board.
Place ropes side by side.
Press together lightly and twist.
Complete cookies one at a time.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Curve top of each cookie to form handle of cane.
Bake until set and very lightly browned.
