Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.

Drain pineapple, reserving juice.

Add enough water to juice to make 1 1/2 cup liquid.

Stir into dissolved gelatin.

Chill until thickened.

Measure 1 1/2 cups thickened gelatin into a separate bowl.

Stir in pineapple and apples.

Pour into 6-cup mold.

Chill until set.

Combine mayonnaise and cabbage with remaining gelatin.

Pour into mold over the set gelatin.

Chill until firm.

Unmold and garnish as desired.
