Cabbage Casserole
Cabbage Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large cabbage, shredded (about 12 c.), 1 chopped onion, 6 tbsp. margarine, 1 (10 3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup, undiluted and 8 oz. processed american cheese, cubed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cook cabbage in boiling salt water until tender; drain thoroughly.
In large skillet, saute onion in 5 tablespoons margarine until tender.
Add soup and mix well.
Add cheese.
Heat and stir until melted.
Remove from heat.
Stir in cabbage, salt and pepper.
Transfer to an ungreased 2-quart baking dish.
