Cream butter, sugar and egg well.
Add vanilla and beat thoroughly.
Sift dry ingredients together and stir in; add nuts. Spread in greased 8-inch square pan and bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.

Return to oven for about 2 minutes, or until softened.
When cool, frost.
