Butterscotch Cookies

Cook butter and sugar over low heat until bubbly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Add vanilla extract, then sifted dry ingredients and coconut.
Mix thoroughly.
One cup nut meats may also be added.
Spread in shallow 10 1/2 x 15-inch pan (greased) and bake in moderate oven (350Β°) about 25 minutes.
While warm, cut in squares.
Makes 3 dozen.
