Heat oven to 350Β°.
Melt butter in a saucepan.
Remove from heat.
Mix in brown sugar, egg, vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt.
Then stir in chips.
Spread into a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch square pan.
Bake for 23 to 25 minutes.
Cut into 16 pieces. Cool.
