Buttermilk Pie

Combine sugar, flour and butter.
Add buttermilk, flavoring, salt, lemon juice and slightly beaten egg yolk.
Mix thoroughly. Pour into pastry lined pan.
Bake in a hot 425Β° oven until an inserted knife comes out clean.
Cover with meringue made of egg whites and 2 tablespoons sugar.
Bake in a slow oven for 20 minutes.
