In a saucepan, combine pineapple, Jell-O and gelatin.

Stir to mix well.

Over medium heat, heat to boiling point to dissolve Jell-O and gelatin.

Pour into large bowl and cool.

Place in refrigerator until mixture is the thickness of mayonnaise.

Add nuts and buttermilk and mix well.

Fold in Cool Whip and mix well. Refrigerate and cut in squares for serving.

This makes a very large salad, a long casserole will hold it nicely.
