Buttermilk Biscuits
Buttermilk Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 tsp. baking powder, 2 c. sifted flour, 1 c. buttermilk, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles crumbs.
Add buttermilk all at once and stir until dough follows fork around bowl.
Knead 1/2 minute. Roll 1/2-inch thick.
Brush with melted fat.
Fold over and cut double biscuits.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen.
