Buttercream Icing
Buttercream Icing is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 c. vegetable shortening, 1/8 tsp. salt, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 5 c. confectioners sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer.
Add vanilla and salt.
Gradually add sugar one cup at a time, beating well at medium speed after each addition. Scrape bottom and sides of bowl often.
When all sugar has been added, icing will appear dry.
Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy.
Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until you're ready to decorate.
