Brownies
Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 to 3/4 c. cocoa, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2/3 c. melted butter or margarine, 1/2 c. boiling water (measure accurately) and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Stir cocoa and baking soda in mixing bowl.
Blend in 1/3 cup melted butter.
Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup melted butter; stir until smooth.
Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely. Stir in chips and nuts.
Pour into lightly greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool completely; cut into bars.
Makes about 2 dozen.
