Brownie Pudding
Brownie Pudding is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sifted flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/3 c. granulated sugar and 1 tbsp. cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Sift flour once.
Measure.
Add baking powder, salt, granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon cocoa and sift again.
Add milk, shortening and vanilla.
Mix only until smooth, then add nuts. Pour into greased casserole or small baking dish.
Mix together brown sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa; sprinkle over batter, then pour boiling water over top of the batter.
(This makes a chocolate sauce in the bottom of pan after pudding is baked.) Bake in moderate oven at 350Β° for 30 to 40 minutes.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
