Bread Custard
Bread Custard is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. brown sugar, 4 slices bread, 1/8 tsp. salt, 2 eggs and 2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Put brown sugar in top of double boiler.
Place well buttered bread slices on top of sugar.
In a separate bowl, beat eggs.
Add milk, salt and vanilla.
Pour this custard over the bread, but do not stir.
Steam for 1 1/2 hours and serve hot or cold.
