Wash and slice cucumbers and onions.
Add salt and place in large bowl; cover with plate.
Let stand 3 hours and then drain well.
Add remaining ingredients in a large saucepan (preferably in a Dutch oven) and bring to a full boil.
Add cucumber mixture and heat, but DO NOT COOK.
Seal in canning jars.
