Boston Brown Bread
Boston Brown Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. water, 1 1/2 c. raisins, 2 tbsp. spry or other shortening, 1 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Put water and raisins in large pan; boil for 5 minutes (cool).
While still warm, add all other ingredients.
Mix together well.
Add nuts last.
Grease cans fully to top.
Half fill them. until well brown in 350Β° oven for 45 to 60 minutes.
Cool for short time.
While still warm, tip out of can on wax paper.
(Use 3 or 4 No. 2 cans, vegetable or fruit.)
