Preheat oven to 350Β°.

Grease 9-inch glass pie dish.

Place frozen berries in bowl.

Add 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon flour; toss to coat berries.

Spoon mixture into prepared pie dish.

In medium bowl, rub remaining 1 cup flour and butter together with fingertips until coarse meal forms.

Mix in remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar.

Add milk, egg, lemon peel and vanilla; stir to blend.

Pour batter over berry mixture.

Bake pudding until firm in center and top is golden brown, about 55 minutes.

Let cool 10 minutes.
