Melt butter over low heat.
Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar until well blended.
Stir in egg.
Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
Then stir in vanilla and walnuts.
Spread in well-greased 8-inch square pan.
Bake at 350Β° about 25 minutes.
Do not overbake!
Cut into bars or squares while still warm.
