Blackberry Cake
Blackberry Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 2 c. sugar, 3 eggs, 1 c. blackberries (fresh or canned; if canned, drain juice from them) and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
Set aside.
Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs, blackberries and buttermilk mixture, mix well.
Add flour mixture and blend well.
Put in loaf or round cake pans.
Bake until tests done with a toothpick (approximately 60 minutes).
