Black Walnut Divinity
Black Walnut Divinity is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. light karo corn syrup, 1/2 c. water, 1/4 tsp. salt and 2 egg whites, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Mix the first 4 ingredients in saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce heat; cook without stirring until syrup forms a ball in cold water (holds shape but is still plastic).
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Beating constantly on high speed of electric mixer, slowly pour hot syrup over egg whites.
Continue beating until small amount holds soft peak when dropped from spoon.
Mix in vanilla and nuts.
Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper.
