Betty-Gine's Apple Crisp
Betty-Gine'S Apple Crisp is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 1/2 c. peeled and sliced cooking apples, 1/4 c. water, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. each nutmeg and cinnamon and 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Put apples in shallow 2 quart casserole and add water.
Combine sugars, spices, salt and flour in mixing bowl.
Cut in butter with a pastry blender, until mixture is crumbly.
Spoon evenly over apples.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake 30 minutes more.
Serve hot or cold with sweet cream or ice cream. Good plain too.
