Betsy's Apple Deep Dish
Betsy'S Apple Deep Dish is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lbs. wine sap apple, or pie apples, sliced and tossed with juice of one lemon, 1 t. cornstarch, 1/2 c. white sugar, 1/4 t. cinnamon and 1/8 t. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Add apples to first mixture and toss.
Arrange apples and sugar and spices in 1-1/2 qt. baking dish.
Then mix second mixtures with fingertips until crumbly then toss on top of apples. Bake 400Β° for 45 minutes.
1/4 c. sliced toasted almonds may be tossed on top about 15 minutes before baking is complete.
