Mix butter, vanilla, brown sugar, sugar, water and eggs together.
In another bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking soda. Pour flour mixture into butter mixture and stir until well blended. Add chocolate chips, mixing well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake at 375Β° for about 10 minutes.
Result is soft and chewy cookies.
Makes about 3 to 4 dozen.
