Best Chocolate Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 2 c. all-purpose flour, 1/4 c. cocoa, 1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine or butter and 1 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Combine the first 3 ingredients in large bowl.
Melt margarine or butter with water and oil in saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to boil.
Pour over dry ingredients; mix well.
Add eggs, 1/2 cup buttermilk, baking soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla; blend thoroughly.
Pour into an 18 x 11-inch rectangular roasting pan.
Bake until tester inserted in center of cake comes out clean, approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
