Beemans Gum
Old-fashioned chewing gum slabs use wintergreen, vanilla, and a creamy sugar base for a clean, nostalgic chew. Thin scored sticks make a neat after-dinner candy with a cool finish.
π Recipe adapted from Wikidata (Dish)
Soften the gum base over low indirect heat until it can be stirred and folded.
Knead in glucose syrup and glycerin, then add wintergreen and vanilla.
Mix powdered sugar with powdered milk and work it gradually into the gum until smooth.
Roll the gum between sheets of wax paper into a thin rectangle.
Score into narrow sticks and let the pieces rest until firm enough to separate cleanly.
