Beef Stew Western Style
Beef Stew Western Style is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. beef cubes, 2 tbsp. shortening, 1 (1 5/8 oz.) can onion dry soup mix, 2 c. water and 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
In heavy pan, brown beef in shortening.
Pour off fat.
Add soup mix and water.
Cover; simmer 1 1/2 hours.
Add vegetables. Cover; cook 20 minutes more.
Gradually blend 1/3 cup additional water into flour until smooth; slowly stir into stew.
Cook; stir until thickened.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
