Bean Soup
Bean Soup is an moderately easy soup you can prepare in about 1 hour 32 minutes. Made with c. dry navy beans or great northern beans, c. water, large onion, . salt and ham bone or 1 c. diced ham, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Wash beans and drain.
Put beans and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
Continue to boil 2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Cover and let stand one hour.
Add onion, salt, ham and carrots to the beans.
Cover and simmer about 2 1/2 hours or until beans are soft.
For thicker soup, simmer longer.
Add additional water for thinner soup.
This soup freezes very well and tastes just as good.
