Basic Roll Dough
Basic Roll Dough is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 1 c. milk, scalded, 1/4 c. shortening, 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour and 1/4 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Soften yeast in warm water.
Combine milk, sugar, shortening and salt; cool.
Add 1 1/2 cups flour; beat well.
Beat in yeast and egg.
Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, beating well.
Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise to double bulk.
(Except Refrigerator Rolls, do not let rise.)
Turn out on floured board and shape as desired.
Cover to rise.
Bake in greased pan at 400Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
