Basic Marinara Sauce
Basic Marinara Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. olive oil, 1 medium onion, chopped, 2 cloves garlic, chopped fine, 4 tbsp. dried parsley and 1 tsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Heat oil in heavy skillet.
Add onion and garlic.
Cook until tender.
Add tomatoes and liquid, spices and sugar.
Cover and simmer over medium heat 20 minutes to blend flavors.
Cool and divide into 3 half-pint freezer containers.
Freeze and use to make Mediterranean Stuffed Potatoes, Southwest Turkey Pie or marinara makes an excellent base for spaghetti sauce.
