Basic Italian Cookies
Basic Italian Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 c. flour, 1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar, 3 eggs, 2 tbsp. baking powder and 1 c. margarine or butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Blend sugar and baking powder with the flour with a wire whisk.
Put on a pastry board; make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
Break the eggs into the center and add the vanilla.
Knead the dough well for 5 minutes until it is smooth, adding a little flour if the dough seems too sticky and soft. Pinch off bits of dough about the size of a small apricot and form into desired shape (rings or strips).
Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake in a hot 450Β° oven for 10 minutes or less until golden.
Watch carefully, because they brown easily! Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
