Preheat oven to 450Β°.
Mix shortening into flour until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
Add milk and stir until mixture leaves sides of bowl.
Knead dough until smooth on floured surface.
Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut with floured 2-inch cutter. Place biscuits lightly touching.
Place on baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 12 to 14 biscuits.
