Place the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl.

In another bowl, cream the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat the eggs and add to the creamed mixture.

Mash the bananas (3/4 cup banana pulp) and mix with the sour milk and vanilla.

Add the banana mixture alternately with the dry ingredients.

Mix well.

Pour the batter into 2 greased 9-inch round layer pans or a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 1/2 hour at 375° for the round pans and 40 minutes at 350° for the 9 x 13-inch oblong pan.
