Baklava
Baklava is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. pecans, chopped very fine, 4 c. walnuts, chopped very fine, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. cinnamon and 1 1/2 c. butter, melted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Lightly butter bottom of a 13 x 9-inch dish.
Layer 9 sheets of filo dough with butter between layers.
Spread 1 cup of nut mixture (sugar, nuts and cinnamon) on top layer.
Sprinkle with butter. Layer 4 sheets of filo dough with butter between each layer and spread 1 cup nut mixture on top layer.
Repeat 4 layers of buttered filo dough and nut mixture on top 5 more times.
The last layer of filo dough is 9 sheets with butter between layers.
Bake at 325Β° for 60 minutes.
