Baked Donuts

Add shortening, sugar and salt to the scalded milk; cool to lukewarm.
Add mashed potatoes and yeast that has been dissolved in the potato water.
Blend in beaten eggs; work in flour gradually.
Cover; let rise until light.
Place on floured board; knead until smooth.
Roll dough about 1/2-inch thick.
Bake at 425Β° until delicate brown.
Brush with melted butter.
While still warm, roll in powdered sugar, white sugar or cinnamon sugar. These are very delicious.
