Awesome Beef Stew is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 c. water, 1 c. red wine, 1 tbsp. chopped parsley, 1/3 c. chopped celery tops and 2 bay leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Brown meat on all sides in oil.
Transfer to large casserole dish.
Combine first 8 ingredients and heat to boiling.
Pour over meat.
Cover and bake at 325Β° for 2 to 3 hours or until meat is almost tender.
Add more if necessary.
Add remaining ingredients and bake about 45 minutes or until vegetables are done.
Thicken stock, if desired.
Serve with hot sourdough bread.
