Aunt Sally's Cocoa Drops
Aunt Sally'S Cocoa Drops is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. soft shortening (part butter), 1 c. sugar, 3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk, 1 3/4 c. sifted flour and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar and egg.
Stir in buttermilk and vanilla.
Sift dry ingredients together and stir in.
Add nuts.
Chill 1 hour.
Heat oven to 400Β°.
Drop with teaspoon 2-inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Frost with a chocolate icing.
