Aunt Nora's Date Cake
Aunt Nora'S Date Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 2/3 c. four, 1/2 tsp. salt, 10 oz. dates, diced, 1 c. hot water and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

π¨βπ³ Instructions
Sift flour, salt and cinnamon together.
Pour hot water over dates; add soda and let cool.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add egg and vanilla.
Add dates.
Mix flour and nuts.
Add to mixture and beat.
I usually double the recipe and it provides enough batter for three oiled loaf pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 1/4 hours.
