Stir sugar, salt and butter into scalded milk.
Cool to lukewarm.
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add milk mixture, egg and 2 cups flour.
Beat until smooth.
Stir in remaining flour to make soft dough.
Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 30 minutes.
Punch down and shape into rolls.
Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
Bake at 400Β° for 15 to 20 minutes.
