In saucepan, cover raisins with water; bring to boil and cool.
Reserve 5 tablespoons liquid.
In bowl, mix together sugar and eggs.
Add flour, soda, vanilla and oatmeal.
Stir in drained raisins with 5 tablespoons reserved liquid.
Add melted butter. Drop by rounded teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
